Fundraising & Sponsorship

ADVERTISING/SPONSORSHIP/FUNDRAISING

In order to bring down the tour fee down we rely quite heavily on fundraisers and sponsorship.

It is absolutely vital that players try to sell as much raffle tickets as they can to avoid the cost that is supposed to be picked up by the raffle billed back to the parents. A minimum of a least 5 tickets would be sufficient. GSWP will, with the assistance of volunteer parent staff, address the issue in earnest in 2009 where the intention is to earnestly raise funds from late March to early November through events such as raffles and golf days.

Sponsorship
Provincial kit that carries no sponsors logo (No levy)
Individual sponsorship of underprivileged players or large sponsorships. (No levy)
Provincial kit for individual teams that carries the sponsors logo (not allowed if the entire squad is not sponsored)
Private, non provincial kit may be supplied to teams at no levy but may not be worn at the pool.

Fundraising
Raffle tickets for three sponsored family holidays in a luxury two bed roomed chalet for a 4 night midweek stay at the four-star Ngwenya Lodge situated inside the fence of the Kruger National Park and on the border of the Krokodil River.
Each player will be required to sell, as a minimum, 5 tickets.

Individual fund raising (to reduce one's own tour cost)
Players have been provided with a letter by which they can seek to obtain direct sponsorship from benefactors to bring down their personal tour fee amount.

GSWP Financial Assistance
Gauteng annually sponsors players of parents who are not in a financial position to afford the tour fee and travel cost. Parents who are feeling the pinch can also ask to pay the tour fee off in perodic installments. All parents who apply for assistance must please contact Marius Buys in writing at buysm@stdavids.co.za or fax to (011) 442 6237 by 1 October 2008.

Reciprocal goodwill from GSWP:
All sponsors receive;
a) A certificate of thanks to the benefactor.
b) Provincial loyalty blazer pin.
c) Their company logo on the sponsor’s page of the GSWP tour site. (if supplied)
d) Their company logo in the SA Schools Tournament Programme. (if supplied)
